Estos dos países son los principales destinos a la hora de hacer turismo invernal, ya que poseen las mejores pistas y calidad de nieve para hacer esquí o snowboard.

A escasos kilómetros de Mendoza capital, se encuentran los tres centros de esquí más elevados de Sudamérica. Por este motivo, poseen nieve siempre, aun cuando escasea en otros centros invernales. Algunos de estos con un desnivel de 1.200 metros, ubicado entre la cumbre de 3.430 metros y la base de 2.240 metros, forman un paraíso para el esquí extremo y el heli-esquí. Practicar esquí fuera de pista, dormir en el refugio o en un hotel 5 estrellas resulta una experiencia indescriptible para esquiadores avanzados y en buen estado físico.
